Hearing aids are getting more acceptable because of the proliferation of bluetooth headsets. (Link Dead) It also mentions how they have hearing aid therapies for hereditary tinnitus, something I’ve suffered from for ages. I usually am able to filter it out, but anytime something calls attention to it, I start to hear it again. (like a hearing aid commercial on the radio, or reading this article.) That’s why I usually listen to something. TV, music, talk radio, video games… Otherwise the dead silence makes my ears ring. (Also why I still haven’t gotten rid of my Windows machine, the jet engine. :)

The other part is that they’re making hearing aids that ALSO have bluetooth support, and have cross-ear networking to support synchronized volume, etc. I really should look into getting these. Everyone suggests that I need them, and I had heard previously about hearing aids that had wireless recieve capability with a certain type of wireless transmitter. Those could come in handy…
