The benefits of being in a powerful union
The strike in NY has yet again demonstrated some of the failures of government owned or sanctioned monopolies. The people of new york by using these forms of transportation extensively and having little competition to them has opened themselves up to a complete disruption of their entire economy. Privatizing buses and having multiple bus companies that can step in and take up the slack could help out drastically.
Right now those with cars are still OK, and the Cab companies which are diverse and private are taking up the slack for the NY Government’s socialistic incompetence, but they still can’t do everything.
Part 4: US
People arrested for selling modchipped Xboxes. This is kind of the same as the one I was griping about with the UK. They really got them for selling an Xbox with 77 games loaded on its hard drive. But because of the DMCA they also tossed in the charge of violating it for circumventing the copy protection. This IMO is insane. They should get them solely for pirating the games.
For all those who continue to say that the white house has no strategy in Iraq: Whitehouse Victory and Exit strategy. (Link Dead)
Has anyone tried either of them? I’m seriously debating buying one or the other of them but can’t decide on which one will have the most suitable programming.
#1: Sirius has 2 Alternative stations, Regular and Classic. XM has 3, Regular, Classic, and Alternative Hits. Advantage: XM.#2: My wife likes Hair metal. XM has no dedicated hair metal station, while Sirius does. Advantage: Sirius.#3: XM has a narrower range of political talk stations, but theirs has Glenn Beck.
I now have this silly game. I’ve connected it up to my wireless access point as well. I guess I need to find someone to trade fruit and maybe chat with on the silly thing now. Anyone else have it?
I’m also up way past when I should be. Need to be up in 6 hours. Bah.
Here’s a few nifty things I found.
Game censorship bill struck down. (Link Dead) Judge says that the Parents are better equipped to determine what is good and bad for their children.Fox joins the growing grand Bluray empire. (Link Dead)Sony ships its 100 millionth PS2. (Link Dead)
First, the important bit.
I finished Castlevania DS, finally. I decided to grab the DS off the shelf right before bed last night and ran through the final boss battle. I lost the first time, but managed to get it the second time. Yay!Second, Joe Lieberman wrote a really good article that really makes a lot of sense. I didn’t want the Iraq war to happen, but for different reasons than most people who opposed it.
I finally went through and finished Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits. It was quite a pain to try and level a character that was 11 levels behind before the final battle, but it only took 3-4 hours. What I didn’t expect was for the final battle to take 2 hours! Eesh.
In any case, this drops the number of PS2 games on my shelf to be finished to 7.
Xbox360 is having problems
But what’s most interesting is this line.O'Donnell added that Microsoft is prepared for the calls they’ve gotten and have plenty of stock to replace any units that need replacing.Oh really? Just the other day MS was saying that they didn’t have large amounts of units stockpiled away in some warehouse…
