Kazriko's Dive

Animal Crossing WW for DS

I now have this silly game. I’ve connected it up to my wireless access point as well. I guess I need to find someone to trade fruit and maybe chat with on the silly thing now. Anyone else have it? I’m also up way past when I should be. Need to be up in 6 hours. Bah.

A quick break from work to look at the news.

Here’s a few nifty things I found. Game censorship bill struck down. (Link Dead) Judge says that the Parents are better equipped to determine what is good and bad for their children.Fox joins the growing grand Bluray empire. (Link Dead)Sony ships its 100 millionth PS2. (Link Dead)

Castlevania DS, and Lieberman

First, the important bit. I finished Castlevania DS, finally. I decided to grab the DS off the shelf right before bed last night and ran through the final boss battle. I lost the first time, but managed to get it the second time. Yay!Second, Joe Lieberman wrote a really good article that really makes a lot of sense. I didn’t want the Iraq war to happen, but for different reasons than most people who opposed it.

ATL4

I finally went through and finished Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits. It was quite a pain to try and level a character that was 11 levels behind before the final battle, but it only took 3-4 hours. What I didn’t expect was for the final battle to take 2 hours! Eesh. In any case, this drops the number of PS2 games on my shelf to be finished to 7.

Xbox problems... and more supply than they're letting on?

Xbox360 is having problems But what’s most interesting is this line.O'Donnell added that Microsoft is prepared for the calls they’ve gotten and have plenty of stock to replace any units that need replacing.Oh really? Just the other day MS was saying that they didn’t have large amounts of units stockpiled away in some warehouse…

European Union == Libertarians?

Financial Times article on Merkel (paywalled) What I noticed was the following line:Domestic politicians such as Mr Schröder have often portrayed the European Commission as an institution infested with Anglo-Saxon libertarian zealotsWhoa. That comment may have just increased my respect for the EC? :p

More games

Work has been pretty harsh lately, so I’ve been feebly attempting to unwind with video games. I purchased Romancing Saga, Soul Calibur 3, and Dragon Quest 8 this last couple weeks.I haven’t even stuck SC3 in the ps2 yet…Dragon quest 8 is pretty good, standard DQ fare, but so far it seems to have less potential than DQ7. DQ7 let you rebuild the world… I like games like that. (Also why I play Dark Cloud 1&2, Terranigma, and Soul Blazer.

Two steps forward, one step back.

(Link dead) Just when it seems like BMG is making progress on their understanding of how to treat customers…Sony BMG, after announcing a recall of some 4.7 million CDs with the software on Wednesday, said on Friday consumers could mail their CDs to the company, and they would receive a new unprotected CD in return.Pending the processing of the exchange programme, consumers would also receive an email with details of a website where they could download the music tracks as unprotected MP3 files.

My week, so far.

Can be summed up by… While self.alive: Work, Work, Work, Work, Work, Romancing Saga, Ratchet Deadlocked, (Father of the Pride, Disgaea,) Sleep, SleepEach word represents about the same amount of time, more or less.Ratchet Deadlocked isn’t as bad as I thought it would be. It seems much more linear in level design than the previous 3 however. Rental, going to return it on the 12th.Romancing Saga reminds me alot of Saga Frontier.

DRM in the news, again

http://www.channelregister.co.uk/2005/11/03/secfocus_drm/ It’s actually been going on for a long time. This is why I run all CDs I buy through my linux box before I ever let them touch anything else…
