Gal-Civ 2

I decided to sort of write up some of my Galciv2 games in some way here.Being the only admiral so far across the republic to defeat the Dreadlords in any cluster, President McInnis of the United States of Terra has sent me here to this centrally located cluster near the Galactic core. The UST only has a single neglected colony in this area with only a Starport. We recieved reports from our latest allies, the Iconians, that the Dreadlords have a large concentration of starship construction colonies here.

Future massive outcry

Once they decide to disable Component based HDTVs… Like so (Dead Link)

An article for Raif

While it doesn’t mention much on the Turkish or Germany directly, it does go into some of the things that they stirred up in Germany. The end of blind cultural tolerance. (Dead Link)

Another nail in the coffin of an ownership society

You don’t own your own electronics in japan after 5 years. I find the date, April 1st 2006, to be a little suspicious, but if this isn’t an early april fools prank this is a rather irritating concept. I guess this explains the concepts that some gaming companies are coming up with to prevent games from working on more than one system. Another site that says the first is being alarmist and untrue

How do people keep up?

I just took a look at a friend’s LJ friends page to see how my userpics show up there, and was shocked that I had to go back something like 100 entries to find my entry from yesterday. How do people keep up with that many posts?

Lack of precision in political thought

Article about an ad that dems say is a lie. The problem here is merely a lack of precision. Technically, all the stuff that the Democrats say is the truth except the one about the ad being a lie. And all the things the ad says are true. The Ad says that we are currently fighting Al Queda in Iraq. This is true. The Democrats are saying that Iraq had little or nothing to do with the terror attacks.

One for Pi

Here’s something on washington’s smoking ban (Link Dead) and how it’s seriously inconveniencing people where the old well ventilated indoor rooms worked far better.

Thought crime, and retroactive crimes?

This blurb about a guy in austria (Link Dead) is rather disturbing to me in multiple ways… The holocaust was a horrific event and one that should be remembered so it is never repeated, but my first issue with this is that it appears to be a law that criminalizes thought and speech. Isn’t speech one of the very things that some european countries are claiming that they are protecting by publishing those cartoons?

What's with the hand basket and where are you taking me?

Google apparently doesn’t have a online content providers license in china. (Link Dead) This leads me to wonder what kind of sick twisted country would require online content providers to have licenses? I mean, to put stuff up on the net all you have to do is put up an httpd and write something. That’s the whole point of the net to begin with. Everyone is a publisher. I guess when you’re a tyranny, you have to eliminate any uncontrolled printing presses you can and restrict them to just a handful of loyal slaves of the government.

Impressive PR by the Pakistani Mobs

Glorifying Hitler is a sure way to get positive public relations, no? I think it’s rather brave of the mobs to put all their cards face up on the table like that. Too bad the media didn’t really take notice of it. Maybe if we got Cheney to shoot someone holding that sign it would make the front page of the news.
