FFXI is far too addictive.
My original goal was to have a game I could play that would keep me occupied until my finances recovered to the point where I could buy new games. I had added it up and figured that for it to meet my average RPG cost, that I’d need to play 8 hours a week for the first 2 months, then at least 4 hours a week after that. (Average RPG cost, 0.50 to 1.00 per hour.)
I’ve had it for about two weeks, and my main character is at 54 hours…
my secondary is around 8. I think I’ve surpassed the goals for the first two months in just 2 weeks.
Anyway, I’ve also been playing alot of my other most addictive games. Sherlock and Angband. http://www.kaser.com/ is the website for sherlock and other puzzle games. Try it, you will probably need to read the howto documents included to figure it out though. It’s a really cool positional logic game. Honeycomb hotel is also good, but I haven’t actually purchased that yet.
Angband is a dungeon crawler. I typically play the ZAngband variant, but there’s a huge number of variants available.
http://rephial.org/ is it’s main website. It’s another one that has been around for awhile, I recall playing its predecessor Moria back in 91. Even after 12 years it’s still really addictive, and I’ve never managed to get past about the 20th floor or so. I guess I just suck at it…
FF:XI-Drug Edition, And two games that keep me addicted after all this time.
